NEWMARKET, ON – “When you are waiting for answers about your health, every day can feel like a year. That’s why tonight, we aren’t just fundraising for technology – we’re fundraising for answers,” said Jennifer Ritter, President and CEO of Southlake Health Foundation, as she and Paul Woods, MD, President and CEO of Southlake Health, passionately set the stage for what would be a record-breaking 2026 Southlake Gala, held on Saturday, October 17.

The 2026 Here and Beyond Southlake Gala, presented by Treasure Hill, welcomed over 900 guests in an awe-inspiring evening, galvanizing those in attendance around supporting diagnostic imaging and image-guided intervention at Southlake Health. A momentous $4.7 million was raised, making the 2026 Gala the most successful in the event’s history.

“The equipment and technology supported by the 2026 Here and Beyond Southlake Gala will touch nearly every patient journey at Southlake Health,” said Dr. Woods. “Growing alongside our communities means also keeping pace with advancing and evolving technology needed to help our talented teams continue to deliver leading edge care, close to home. We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity and support.”

Toronto Raptors Broadcaster with NBA-TV Canada, Sportsnet, and TSN, Paul Jones, hosted the evening and shared his own Southlake connections as a member of the community and grateful patient family member. George St. Kitts, local musician and producer, kicked off the evening with an energized performance, and grateful patient Tim Greenwood shared his life-saving Southlake story, alongside his family, detailing how diagnostic imaging played a critical role in identifying and treating a life-threatening condition.

“While Tim’s story is uniquely his own, it represents thousands of patients who come through our doors at Southlake each day, looking for clarity, looking for treatment, and looking for hope,” said Dr. Peter De Maio, Chief of Diagnostic Imaging at Southlake Health.

The impact of investment for diagnostic imaging technology was felt throughout the evening, and culminated with Southlake Gala Steering Committee Co-Chairs, Lina Bigioni and Lia Fidei, announcing the $4.7 million raised for the evening, and extending their gratitude to guests for their unprecedented support.

Presenting Sponsor Treasure Hill’s President, Nicholas Fidei, also shared why supporting Southlake was especially meaningful for his organization.

“At Treasure Hill, we have always believed that building communities is about much more than building homes. It’s about building places where families can grow, where neighbours can come together, and where people can feel proud to call home. But a truly great community needs more than beautiful homes and neighbourhoods. It needs access to quality healthcare, because nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our families and the people we love.”

In addition to Treasure Hill, Southlake Health Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to the following sponsors of the event: Magna, Bazil Developments, Kerbel Group, Flynn Group of Companies, Kelson, NewRoads Automotive Group, Apple SelfStorage Ltd, Redwood Properties, Alectra, BMO Dorfman Hostick Wealth Group, BLG, Canon, Capital Power York Energy Centre, Cintas, Compass One Healthcare, CPG Aerospace, Fulton Homes, Green Earth Village, GTA Development Corp, HDR, JANA, Loopstra Nixon LLP, Powell Group of Companies, RBC, Robert B Somerville Co Ltd, SmartCentres, Team Group, TPH, The Dalt Hicks Family Foundation, The Green Ribbon Project – Belinda Stronach, The Regional Municipality of York, The Town of East Gwillimbury, Upper Canada Mall, and the Yonge Corridor CDP Landowners Group.

The 2026 Here and Beyond Southlake Gala will help to support significant modernization across Southlake’s Diagnostic Imaging Program, including the renewal and replacement of integral equipment with state-of-the-art technology including: CT scanners, interventional radiology technology, x-ray machines, ultrasounds, fluoroscopy technology, and bone mineral densitometry.

“We are so grateful to every sponsor, donor, guest, and supporter who stood alongside Southlake so powerfully at the Here and Beyond Southlake Gala,” said Jennifer Ritter. “While the government funds many things for healthcare, it does not fund this critically needed technology, and put simply, if our clinical teams can’t see it, they can’t treat it. Together, our fundraising will shorten the distance between symptoms and answers, and between fear and hope for patients and families at Southlake Health. That is a profound impact that we can all be so proud of.”
