Anyone who has relied on their local hospital appreciates the importance of having accessible, high quality, and compassionate care. And, it is becoming increasingly evident that healthcare is NOT created equal, and that great healthcare is the result of visionary leadership, a healthcare team that pushes the envelope of medical practice, and a community committed to supporting them. At Southlake, our results speak volumes about our role as a healthcare leader, worthy of our community’s support.
- Southlake is distinguished as the only community hospital in Ontario to offer six regional programs and to specialize in cancer and cardiac care.
- Our Cardiac Care Program, poised to become the third busiest cardiac program in Ontario, has earned an international reputation for pioneering cardiac procedures including Canadian and world-firsts.
- Southlake’s Regional Cancer Program, developed in partnership with Princess Margaret Hospital, one of the top five cancer research hospitals in the world, offers the most advanced technologies in radiation treatment.
- The Thoracic Surgery Program at Southlake, one of only 12 designated regional programs in Ontario, is the fourth busiest program in the province and has one of only five surgeons in the province equipped to perform highly sophisticated minimally invasive keyhole surgery.
- Southlake’s Eating Disorders and Arthritis Programs are recognized regionally, provincially and nationally as leaders in their respective fields.
- Southlake was recognized as one of the GTA’s Top 75 Employers for 2009 by Mediacorp Inc.
Clearly, Southlake performs. But we need our community’s support to maintain our position as a healthcare leader and to keep up with this region’s staggering growth. Government funding does not cover all the Hospital’s needs and we look to you to help us ensure that Southlake continues to provide the kind of care our community needs and deserves.
